The BDP Screw Press is the most unique screw press in the industry.  It overcomes the traditional hydraulic limitations and filtrate quality issues of screw presses by incorporating an independent rotary drum thickener.  The drum thickener is used to both pre-thicken prior to pressing and post process filtrate prior to leaving the press.  The pre-thickening minimizes screw size and maximizes cake solids.  The post filtrate processing polishes the effluent prior to discharge.  This allows for a very small fully enclosed footprint with unprecedented filtrate quality and excellent cake solids.

The belt press has been the equipment of choice for municipal sludge dewatering since its inception in the early 1970's.  The Model 3DP has features offered by no other manufacturer.

Heres how the Rotary Fan Press Works:

When biosolids enter the system, pressure increases as waste moves slowly through a tapered channel. Friction intensifies as the biosolids compress against two rotating filter screens. Filtrate takes the path of least resistance and drains through the screens.

The dryness of the resulting biosolid cakes varies per application, but averages between 18–24 percent, with some applications achieving as high as 60 percent. In other words: Friction and pressure work together to create high percentage cake solids.
