What is Sludge Dewatering?
Dewatering removes water from sludge to produce a stackable cake for land application, landfill disposal, or further processing such as drying or incineration. The drier the cake, the lower the volume and weight — and hauling and disposal costs are typically the largest ongoing expense in a treatment plant's biosolids program.
